In the East Village middle school, kids had been making bird houses as part of a school project. The neighbors started complaining when they discovered rats were getting into the bird houses to eat the food.
The Antagonist Art Movement, an art collective, said, “To hell with the birds. This is New York City. Have a little respect for the rats.” And so the artists built the rats their own little rat houses. Here is the exhibit.
